This tool is aimed at reducing uncertainty and risk about the technological choices an organization must make.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\" class=\"translation-block\">In three phases - approach (Prepare \u2013 Create - Implement), a company specific <i>Technology Route Plan<\/i> (TRP) is designed and represented graphically, depicting the necessary technology development over time, related to the products &amp; services, production systems and competencies required.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\">The TRP is like a road map for a driver who must fall back on navigation assistance at times as he travels through partly known and partly unprecedented terrain.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\">The planning tool can be used at short (1 - 2 years), medium (2 - 5 years) and long (5 - 8 years) term and can be applied at different levels of analysis, for example on ecosystem, country, cross sector, sector, organization, product, or process level.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\">Working with a TRP has clear advantages:<\/p><ul style=\"margin: 0 0 var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\"><li>It creates the basis for the dialogue of alignment between the pivotal firm, its customers, suppliers, and stakeholders<\/li><li>It indicates when the key enabling technologies become available and when they must be ready in a timely manner.<\/li><li>It identifies important 'knowledge gaps' in market, product, and technology - intelligence within the organization or eco-system.<\/li><li>It makes technology-related investment decision-making more efficient and effective.<\/li><li>It can be used both internally and externally as a communication tool for technology-supporting innovation.<\/li><\/ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: var(--global-md-spacing); color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\">Technology Road Mapping has proven its value for companies as Atradius in \u201cThe Smart Data Customer 2025\u201c, as EDS Airbus in \u201cFuture of Smart Airports 2040\u201d, as well as for a start - up company in \u201cUnsupervised coaching 2025\u201d.<\/p><p style=\"color: rgb(35, 35, 107);\">Interested to find out what it can do for your company?
